The Internet of Things Needs a Code of Ethics

Save the Date: RDA's 10th Plenary - September 19-21, 2017

RDA is pleased to announce its 10th Plenary is scheduled to occur in Montreal, Canada at the Centre Mont-Royal from September 19-21, 2017.  Co-organized by RDA, the University of Montreal and Research Data Canada, the theme of the meeting will be “Better Data, Better Decisions,” the event will bring together what is anticipated to be an audience of close to 600 data scientists, researchers, industry, entrepreneurs, and policymakers from disciplines across the globe.

RDA/US Data Share Early Career Program Announces 2017 Fellowship Awards

RDA/US Data Share, an early career engagement program for the Research Data Alliance/US is pleased to announce its selection of the 2017 cohort of Fellows. The Data Share program, formed in 2015 through grant funding from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, selects Fellows to engage with, study and contribute to the RDA. The program aims at strengthening fellows’ careers and their institutions in data science and data sharing through engagement with the large, international community of RDA.

RDA/US is Hiring for an Executive Director

The U.S. region of RDA is ready to go from “start up” to sustainable, and is seeking an Executive Director (ED) who can take RDA/US from its current successful state to the next generation of the organization -- “RDA/US 2.0”. The RDA/US ED will work with the RDA/US Chair and professional team, RDA/US community, and larger RDA membership and stakeholders to help lead this transformation. The ideal candidate will have experience with collaboration and partnership within the academic, public, non-profit private, and for-profit private sectors.

RDA/US Call for Fellows - Deadline Extended to 3/15

RDA/US invites applications for its Early Career Data Share fellowship program. The successful Fellows will engage in the RDA through carrying out self-proposed projects and through extensive networking and communication with the RDA community. The program is 12 or 18 months depending on the nature of the project; accordingly, Fellows will receive a $5000 or $10,000 stipend.

RDA's 9th Plenary in Barcelona - Call for Posters Now Open!

RDA's 9th Plenary meeting will host a poster session offering participants the possibility to showcase their work to an audience of data practitioners, computer scientists, researchers, policy makers and private sector representatives.The goal of the session is to facilitate the sharing of ideas, research or project developments, results and successful outcomes with the full RDA Community! 

The posters are scheduled to be on display during the Plenary lunch and coffee breaks from April 5-7, 2017.
