RDA Members Participate in ESIP Federation’s Summer Meeting

This week, RDA will be participating in in the 2015 summer meeting of the Earth Science Information Partners (ESIP) Federation at the Asilomar Conference Grounds in Pacific Grove, California.  The ESIP Federation is a broad-based community drawn from agencies and individuals who collectively provide end-to-end handling for Earth and environmental science data and information.  With the theme, “The Federation of Earth Science Information Partners & Community Resilience: Coming Together," this meeting enables members to work collaboratively face to face on issues of interest to the community.

Peter Fox, president of the ESIP Federation as well as a member of RDA’s Technical Advisory Board, Chair of Tetherless World Constellation Chair, and a Professor of Earth, Environmental and Computer Science and Director of the Information Technology and Web Science Program at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, will welcome attendees on Wednesday.  Dr. Kathleen Fontaine, Managing Director of RDA/US, will provide an overview of RDA and its accomplishments, while also presenting during the meeting’s  poster session.  Other RDA members will be will be attending various breakouts focused on topics including but not limited to data stewardship, evolving data products, and interoperability.
